During High School you have the option to do volunteer work. And, whilst not necessary for graduation, it does look good on college applications and work resumés.
Volunteer work is exactly what it sounds like; you volunteer to do work with no pay.
If you get up to about 10 hours of volunteer work you can get a red plume for your graduation cap to show that you spend time during high school volunteering.
Volunteer work can be done during both the summer and school year.
You’d just log your hours of work into whatever app is used by your school.
