Once you have completed your second year of high school, you can take one to two periods of late arrival or early release in your school. You are allowed to take a maximum of two periods of early release/late arrival per year and have the option of doing two periods of early release/late arrival, or one period of each.
Late arrival allows you to come to school one-class period later than everyone else, typically around 10:30 A.M. instead of 9 A.M. since you don't have a first-period class.
Keep in mind that taking these classes replaces your elective classes.
In most campuses, there is a rule stating that students must not be on campus before 10:25 A.M. for late arrival.
You are given this option if you meet the minimum number of required credits (26 throughout all four years) to graduate high school, as well as your STAAR/EOC requirements.
